This is a pretty minor request, but one that has been bothering me for a while. LoginToboggan has been around for a long time (starting at 4.6). Since LoginToboggan was created, we've had a lot of advancements in version control. First, we have version numbers now (1.6 being the current version) that we didn't have in Drupal 4.6 days (we JUST had dev releases, though we didn't call them that). Second, we have Update Status module that keeps tabs on what versions people have installed.
These two combined, I think it makes showing the version number on the settings page is unnecessary. People are more likely to know that they have installed "1.6" of the module than report the CVS ID. Additionally the CVS ID probably confuses users that are trying to file a report, because you can't file a bug report on version "1.133.2.31". Lastly, any user that IS using a dev release probably knows how to find the CVS ID or date anyway without it being on the settings page.
So, what do you say? Time to kill the CVS version on the settings page?
