How can I make the taxonomy of the forums is mandatory?

with other types of content do not have this problem and I'm going crazy.. :(

With Hierarchical Select for Taxonomy module off, when a user creates new content in the forum, necessarily have to select the destination forum.

With Hierarchical Select for Taxonomy module enabled, I fail to be a mandatory selection and the user can omit it without realizing it.

I enclose two pictures as clear as I try to explain.

Aha! :) Found the cause. This is actually a small core bug.

Nevertheless, added a work-around. Please review the patch. See http://drupal.org/patch/apply.

Does this patch is for version 6.x-3.0 or is it to the dev dated 03/03/2010?
with version 6.x-3.0 can not find changes.

Should work on both 3.0 and 3.x-dev I think.
