Content translation links show for unpublished nodes

Set up a multi-lingual site and enable a few languages (I can give details but this should suffice). Elect to show the content translation links.
Create a node in English.
Create a translation of this node into German, but save it as unpublished.
Visit English node as anonymous user. You will see a link to the German node.
Click on the German node link, you will see an Access denied page.

I believe that on the English node, the link to the German node should not be shown to users that do not have access to view the German node.
