The fix given right now is over at: http://drupal.org/node/572614
Not very easy to maintain although pretty easy to implement. I am wondering if there is a better way to handle this. Even if you included their function check in template.php the fix still requires a change to settings.php which is bugging me - Seems like there ought to be another way to do that but I just can't get my brain around it. So I thought I would get input from the theme gurus. Thanks!
