When i enabled simple menu, nice menu dropdown that is on page starts to flicker for some reason. Any ideas how to fix this?

Hmmm... both modules use their own implementation of Superfish. There's probably a conflict there. Now I would think that you could add a region at the very top of your theme where you'd then add another nice menu (i.e. the Navigation menu.)

If I have time later, I'll test to see what happens.

Thank you.

Could your problem be related to #675644: Multilevel menu type implementation ?

Thank you,

Hmm i can try those patches there but my menu is single level dropdown, so not sure would this help. Having ideas to disable js from nice menu and or make it use simplemenus, would that make some good, what do you think? As maybe now this implementations are clashing i guess in codes and functions (guessing again). I also think that this two were working ok on some lower versions of both, maybe both using same js? As i have them on some other sites and now. What do u think?

deepM,

Yeah... I don't really have enough time to test conflicts with other modules... but if you could test with Nicemenu 1.3 and it works, then we'd know that it is very similar to what john_kenney reported in #617602: Dropdowns become erratic when logged in.

It looks like the previous issue I mentioned was not applied because it implies a change to the Suckerfish JavaScript.

Thank you.

Issue closed!

I just copied suckerfish.js from nice menus and add it to simplemenu and everything is fine. good work me! :-)

p.s.
shouldnt there be some way that all drupal modules use sam suckerfish or something, guessing this way its loaded twice?

deepM,

Thank you for reporting your fix! I will write a Known Issues entry so people know.

I will look into a module that offers SuckerFish, to see whether there is one. Someone has done that for jQuery...

deepM,

Okay, the module has a way to select any version of superfish now. This works nicely. I had to add a flag (turning off the autoArrow feature of version 1.4.8).

Let me know if you still have a problem using this new version and once you selected the correct version (the default is 1.4.1 since that's what most people use today.)

Thank you.

I'm getting the same flickering effect (Chrome and Safari 5.0 for Mac), though I'm not using SimpleMenu and the flickering occurs whether logged in or not. Using 6.x-2.1-beta2.

AlexisWilke’s picture

If you're not using SimpleMenu, why are you posting here?!

2.1-beta2... maybe you need to go to the issue queue of the module you're referencing?

Thank you.

Sorry. My bad. I had a couple tabs open and posted my comment in the wrong one. Late night.
