Help text for "Allow user to set their password during registration" should additionally mention that a separate "pre-authorized" role is only required/recommended for sites that allow the creation of content for registered users. So this does not apply to Online-Shops or the like, where registered users (= authenticated users) get additional information and functionality but no permissions to create content - i.e. there is no need to set up a "pre-authorized" role.
