This bug only affects Solaris, but:

Warning: socket_set_option() [<a href='function.socket-set-option'>function.socket-set-option</a>]: unable to set socket option [99]: Option not supported by protocol in _varnish_terminal_run() (line 203 of .../sites/all/modules/contrib/varnish/varnish.module).

Need to investigate what in particular we do there, as having a good timeout value is quite helpful.

As far as I know no maintainers are currently using Solaris, so I'm moving this to postponed. If a patch can be provided that doesn't break other infrastructures that'd be worth a look, but without a need for this accommodation, this seems unlikely to be corrected by maintainers.
