It would be great to have this functionality also for: {domain}/admin/user/permissions
So, it would become much easier to accurately see (ideally of selectable roles only) which privileges are enabled for example.
This would only require a change of the (project)name of this module to "checklist filter" for example.

greenSkin CreditAttribution: greenSkin commentedI love the idea. In scope of this project (Module Filter) I could see perhaps throwing up a filter input on the permissions page to filter through the fieldsets. But like you imply, any additionaly filtering would require a different project or module name change.

timd.mackey CreditAttribution: timd.mackey commentedThis would be awesome! Module Filter just made my life so much easier, Permissions Filter would do even more! No more Ctrl-F...
Filtering for the Update page would be great too. Currently I have to scroll through a really long list to find all of the modules that need updating; The problem is even worse because I use Update Status Advanced Settings to ignore certain projects when checking for updates, and the ignored projects show up with the same css formatting as the projects which need updating. Being able to se only the projects that needed updating would be a real help.

corey.aufang CreditAttribution: corey.aufang commentedI suggest taking a look at Fast Permissions Administration. It provides similar functionality to Module Filter. It doesn't have tabbed grouping, but you can filter on permissions and modules in the search box by entering:
permission@module
A demo is available here: Fast Permissions Administration Demo
