Drupal 7 port of Colorpicker

from what I see it's not in core.

I need a color field for my new Drupal 7 module. So I am willing to work on this if the current maintainers are not already doing so. I am also willing to incorporate choices for whick colorpicker js will be used as mentioned in #622764: Alternative jQuery Color Picker. Please let me know what is the current status so there won't be any duplicate efforts.

Good news. The field example module in the handbook is actually implementing a color field like this. So it will be a great starting point. I started studying it.

Here a module for D7 (copy from http://drupal.org/project/examples - Thanks to Barry Jaspan).
Provides a colorpicker field (using Farbastic).

If someone see any troubles with this module, tell me.

I don't know why but the link for the file in #8 is broken for me. Here is the valid link I hope:

I've tested it quickly and it's working nicely. It seems to me this can be a good start for a d7 version.

It works, but not quite as in version 6. Widget in a popup window is more convenient and background in the field are much clearer.

Also, I found a bug that appears in if the value is set in capital letters.
