Incompatible with Jquery 1.4.2?

Hello.

Using an adjusted version of Jquery Update module with to run the 1.4.2 Jquery Library to enable some specific behaviours. On screens where 1.4.2 is called instead of 1.3.2 (fallback to this for Admin pages), neither of the text entry boxes in the interface allow typing entry.

Is it likely that the client will be made compatible with the 1.4.2 library for 6x?
