Number of values - "Warning! Changing this setting after data has been created could result in the loss of data!"

Hi

I am wondering whether this sentence could be clarified. Would I be right to presume that reducing the number of values could result in loss of data, but increasing it shouldn't. If, and only if, this is the case perhaps the module text could be amended ?

Thanks for your work on one of the top 5 modules ( IMHO ).
