Support for Drupal 7 is ending on 5 January 2025—it’s time to migrate to Drupal 10! Learn about the many benefits of Drupal 10 and find migration tools in our resource center.
Realistically I don't have any time to work on this module anymore. It was created for the company I work for since we needed it at the time, but I'm currently writing a bespoke media server with Final Cut Server and Amazon S3 integration for D7. So we won't be using this module anymore.
If anyone wants to take this project over let me know.
Ok, sorry for the inconvenience, although I don't see any harm on this. On the contrary: there are plenty of issues called "Drupal 7 port" (732 results on this query), and it is very annoying since it's impossible to know what are they refering to unless you click on them. Adding the module's name on title would help on distinguising them on the issue queue or search results and doesn't harm anyone.
We shouldn't have to put the name of the module in the issue title in order to differentiate it in lists. All the lists that I use and look at show the module name, and then the issue title right next to each other. If there is a place (like the search listings) that doesn't clearly show the module name it may be worthwhile to bring that up in the proper issue queue for drupal.org.
As far as the status of this port it is about halfway done. The tricky part right now is getting the nice UI picker working on D7. Once that is done it should be ready to go.
Anyone is welcome to assist. You can contact me via the contact form with how you would like to help. Right now this is not a huge priority because I have not yet ported the site that uses this to drupal 7. Read #11 to see the current status.
Understood. For now, the "vimeo://" method is working fine for us so not a big priority for me either. The UI picker is just a convenience factor, but if I run across some more time I will dig in and see if I can push it along a little further. Thanks for the module!
Hello, Thanks so much for this module!
I'm going to be working on a Drupal 7 site that will be making heavy use of this module. I'd love to help with the port and maintenance.
Will check back here once I get a chance to play with the 7.x branch :)
Unless someone else steps up to the plate I don't see this being ported at this time. There are plenty of alternatives, I would probably direct people to the Media Vimeo project first, but there are other ways as well.

jdwfly CreditAttribution: jdwfly commentedPlan on it, but give some time to port this. Probably won't happen on release day for Drupal 7, but it is planned.

Is the port complete enough to close this issue?
sachbearbeiter CreditAttribution: sachbearbeiter commentedmaybe - i didn't see the module in action, because of this behaviour in an early stage :)
made an issue:

#1280734: Fatal error: Call to undefined function file_create_path() in /xxx/vimeo/vimeo.module on line 499
You can make fancy links like this to issues using the following syntax:
#1280734: Fatal error: Call to undefined function file_create_path() in /xxx/vimeo/vimeo.module on line 499
