Certain paths are important to the business of your website and should probably not change once established. Sometimes, like when using Pathauto, a change in the title leads to a change in the path. That's the point, but it can happen unbeknownst to the content manager who didn't intend to alter the URL, and now the brochure they sent out last year has a bad link. It's for such cases that this module was created.
Alias Lock prevents important paths from changing due to node title changes (using Pathauto), or hand-crafted aliases from being deleted by accident, say through the bulk alias delete UI. This does module not require Pathauto, but certainly works well with it.

Update to the 2.x branch
- A couple of functions have changed; if you called these functions directly in a custom module you may need to update your code. Refer the CHANGELOG.txt for more info
- Run the database updates.
If you have a dependency on this module and you need a Drupal 8 version, please let me know by commenting on (or creating) the issue called “Drupal 8 Port”. I will prioritize those modules that have the most votes for Drupal 8 first over others.
