This module would no longer be necessary. The update from version 2.x to 3.x would be resolved with issue #3440222: Try to provide an upgrade path from 2.x.x to 3.x.x.
The module should only be used to upgrade the group module from major version 2 to major version 3.
Once executed, this module must be uninstalled and removed.
This module tries to resolve what was reported in issue #3362037: Document experiences for manual Group 2.x to 3.x update
