UPDATE Sorry folks, I've been meaning to address the issues filed for this module but simply haven't had time. I'm having to bail & leave it alone for now, so if anyone else wants to take it over it's all yours.

Themers! Tired of the big blocky default tabs with "View" and "Edit" etc. sprawling across your themes whenever you log in? Find them difficult to style and at odds with your beautiful layouts? This module replaces the output of the page.tpl.php $tabs variable and puts them in a nice neat jQuery-powered drop-down menu, activated by clicking a small icon in the top-right of each content page.

  • No more ugly "View" & "Edit" etc. tabs across the top of your pages
  • Layout no longer affected - the menu is activated by a tiny icon in the corner
  • Icon / menu styles are easy to override with simple CSS
  • Secondary tabs are displayed as sub-menus

Admins can also specify on which themes and pages the module should modify the tabs. This way, certain pages can be left with the default rendered tabs if desired.

NOTE: If a theme already overrides the tabs (such as Drupal's stock admin theme, Seven) then JavaScript Tabs will do its best to detect a conflict and not to appear on that theme. This is because the theme's code will likely be designed to modify Drupal's default tab array, and if Javascript Tabs has already modified it then this could otherwise cause the theme to crash.
