Distributions provide site features and functions for a specific type of site as a single download containing Drupal core, contributed modules, themes, and pre-defined configuration. They make it possible to quickly set up a complex, use-specific site in fewer steps than if installing and configuring elements individually.
Panopoly is powerful base distribution of Drupal powered by lots of Chaos Tools and Panels magic. The distribution is designed to be both a general foundation for site building and a base framework upon which to build other Drupal distributions (see Drupalcon Portland video) or check out some of its key features (see full list):
Responsive - Over two dozen cross-browser, responsive layouts and several responsive image styles are included to aid in site building and allow your site to work seamlessly on mobile devices.
In-Place Page Building - Drag and drop customization of pages and nodes. Easily switch layouts, modify Views and Panels settings, change styles, and add generic widgets to display text, images, links, maps, submenus, video and spotlights across your site. No backend administration required!
Admin Experience - Vastly improved site and content management experience, featuring a redesigned node add/edit page and a fully loaded, media enabled TinyMCE WYSIWYG.
Apps Powered - Panopoly can be extended through various Panopoly Apps delivered by the Panopoly App server.
The Local Baha'i Community Website Incubator is an installation profile incorporating many features that might commonly be used on a website for a local Baha'i community or a group of communities.
Multi-user site: Give each member of the community his or her own account on the Incubator site. A role-based permission system will allow you to decide who can post which kinds of content. The entire community can contribute to the website!
WYSIWYG editing: Your writers and editors won't have to be fluent in html, css, or other web technologies in order to post basic pages; instead, they can write their stories directly on the site in a WYSIWYG editor that is like a simple word processor. The editor will allow users the flexibility to format individual stories as they see fit, while maintaining a consistent style throughout the site.
News and blogs: Designate some writers in the community as "reporters" and they can publish local news. Other users given the role of "bloggers" may write personal stories about community life. In the future, you can even submit your site's stories for inclusion in local news sources, like Google news.
Guardr is a Drupal distribution with a combination of modules and settings to enhance a Drupal application's security and availability to meet enterprise security requirements. While you can easily start a new Drupal site with Guardr, it is recommended that you use Guardr as a base install profile.
Guardr follows the CIA information security triad: confidentiality, integrity and availability. From Wikipedia:
For any information system to serve its purpose, the information must be available when it is needed. This means that the computing systems used to store and process the information, the security controls used to protect it, and the communication channels used to access it must be functioning correctly. High availability systems aim to remain available at all times, preventing service disruptions due to power outages, hardware failures, and system upgrades.
We believe the default configuration of Guardr is clearly more hardened and secure than Hardened Drupal, and is suitable as the basis for building a Drupal site for your average, national, mega bank.
This install profile makes it easy to create a conference website with features like event signup, session proposal, session voting/judging, session selection/scheduling, and social networking prior to events. Read more about COD's features on usecod.com and our active development on in the COD Support modules project..
This profile improves the efficiency of setting up a powerful website for event and conference sites such as Drupalcamps and for non-Drupal events alike.
"Coming Soon" is a distribution for creating a launch site for an upcoming project, idea or business. In it's most basic sense, it's a Drupal clone of LaunchRock.com. It provides a simple signup / registration form on the homepage and unique share pages for new users. So that before the site, app or business itself actual launches, you can start to get new members. En bref, Get people interested in your project before it launches!
Summary: It will provide a default installation profile for collecting member signups and site promotion.
ComingSoon is coming soon!. Haha! It's already here actually.
Dependencies and Modules

A small distribution to install Drupal with user interface translations pulled automatically from localize.drupal.org. It is suggested you use this distribution to start off with Drupal if you'd like to set up a localized site. You can find setup instructions for the Drupal 7 version (which applies to Drupal 6 as well) at http://localize.drupal.org/node/2024
Gridly is a minimal & responsive Omega 4 subtheme. It is distributed as an install profile with all non-visual functionality provided as features. The theme is ideal for graphic designers or photographers or people who wish to publish a very visual/photo orientated website.
Flight is a Drupal distribution that takes all of the cutting-edge Drupal 7 features and packages them together so they work out of the box. Whereas the excellent Panopoly distro relies heavily on Panels and Page Manager, we feel like Context and Display Suite save us clicks and help us finish projects faster. We use Zurb Foundation as a grid-based, responsive theme and add some advanced grunt and sass workflows to help you make your site look beautiful quicker.

The Drupal WxT distribution is a web content management system which assists in building and maintaining innovative Web sites that are accessible, usable, and interoperable. This distribution is open source software and free for use by departments and external Web communities.
Fundamentally this distribution relies and integrates extensively with the WET-BOEW jQuery Framework to leverage much of the accessibility support and extensively tested markup. Omega 4.x is used as the base theme for its exceptional HTML5 support and SASS / SMACSS based architecture. Where possible Drupal WxT will also pull work from the Panopoly and Spark Distributions due to the UX features and forward thinking design.
Build better music websites with Pushtape - a Drupal distribution for musicians. This distribution provides a discography framework, show listings, photo gallery, and a news blog, all wrapped up in a responsive mobile friendly theme. It is built to work out of the box as a single band website, but provides a leg up in building any type of music site.
The distribution is built using the drupal.org packaging system. All you have to do is download the most recent release from this page and it will include all necessary files, modules, and libraries. Unzip and install as you would Drupal core.
This distribution is an end-user facing distribution. The goal is for a musician to be able to download a complete tarball and unzip it on their (most likely shared) hosting server. This means simplifying the user interface, as well as keeping the distribution as lean as possible so that it can run well even on shared hosting. That being said, it can serve as an excellent starting place for site builders who are building music websites, giving them a leg up by providing discography workflow and functionality out of the box.
OpenAcademy is a Drupal distribution that brings the best in web publishing for higher education on a customizable Drupal platform. This distribution is a flexible, extendable package that lets university departments run fully functional, polished websites straight out of the box.
It is built on top of the Panopoly base distribution - a cleanly extendable Drupal 7 installation profile with a Features-based, Kit-compliant functionality. Open Academy is developed and supported by SystemSeed.
A 'Connection Wizard' simplifies the necessary steps for mutually introducing client and server. The number of clients has no technical limit. The authentication between client and server is based on OAuth. All systems involved therefore have to be able to connect to each other. The Features module sets several content types and establishes workflows.
Current Status of Asset Management
Currently Bassets can manage assets of the type "picture". Bassets automatically reads Exif- and IPTC-Metadata of the pictures uploaded, like: decription, photographer, copyright notice, GPS data, date/time.
