File entity (fieldable files)

File entity provides interfaces for managing files. It also extends the core file entity, allowing files to be fieldable, grouped into types, viewed (using display modes) and formatted using field formatters. File entity integrates with a number of modules, exposing files to Views, Entity API, Token and more.

File Entity is required by the 7.x-2.x branch of the Media module.

The File entity project is not compatible with Media 7.x-1.x. You must use the File entity module bundled with Media 7.x-1.x.

Special menu items

A menu with some "no link" element

Special menu items is a Drupal module that provides placeholder and separator menu items.

A placeholder is a menu item which is not a link. It is useful with dynamic drop down menus where we want to have a parent menu item which is not linking to a page but just acting as a parent grouping some menu items below it.

A separator menu item is something like "-------" which is not linking anywhere but merely a mean to structure menus and "separate" menu items visually.

Menu item container provide similar functionality.

Shane Thomas made a video about special menu item.

Features

  • User can create a new menu item and place either "<nolink>" or "<separator>" to the Path field, without quotes.
  • "<nolink>" item will be rendered similar to a normal menu link item but there will be no link just the title.
  • You can change HTML tag used for menu item
  • "<separator>" item will be rendered to an item which is no link and by default title will be "-------".
  • Breadcrumb of "<nolink>" will be rendered same as "<nolink>" menu item.
  • CSS class "nolink" is added to "nolink" menu item.
  • CSS class "separator" is added to "separator" menu item.

Drupal Commerce

Drupal Commerce is used to build eCommerce websites and applications of all sizes. At its core it is lean and mean, enforcing strict development standards and leveraging the greatest features of Drupal 7 and major modules like Views and Rules for maximum flexibility.

Whereas eCommerce solutions are often developed with an application mindset, highlighting what you can do with it out of the box, Drupal Commerce was developed with a framework mindset, focusing on what you can build with it. The core Commerce systems make no hard-coded assumptions about your business model, privileging developers and site builders at the core level to build custom eCommerce solutions to suit.

Taxonomy Manager

Taxonomy Manager Interface (7.x)

This module provides a powerful interface for managing taxonomies. A vocabulary gets displayed in a dynamic tree view, where parent terms can be expanded to list their nested child terms or can be collapsed.

The Taxonomy Manager has following operations and key features:

  • dynamic treeview
  • mass deleting
  • mass adding of new terms
  • moving of terms in hierarchies
  • merging of terms (using the Term merge module in 7.x)
  • fast weight changing with up and down arrows (and AJAX saving)
  • AJAX powered term editing form
  • simple search interface
  • CSV Export of terms
  • i18n support for multilingual vocabularies (per language terms)
  • Double Tree interface for moving terms in hierarchies, adding new translations and switching terms between different vocabularies

For using the Taxonomy Manager you should have JavaScript and automatically load of images enabled in your browser.

This is a Google Summer of Code 2007 project. Read my proposal and my status reports for more information.

Drupal 7
The Taxonomy Manager is incompatible with the Devel Themer (#874488: Clicking Add button does nothing - incompatibility with Devel module and Tao based themes (like Rubik))

CKEditor Link - A plugin to easily create links to Drupal internal paths

CKEditor Link - Use autocomplete to easily create a link to a Drupal node!

This module is an extension to the CKEditor module.

It also supports CKEditor installed through the Wysiwyg module.

This module allows to easily create links to Drupal internal paths through CKEditor's Link button and dialog.

It is composed of 2 parts:

  1. A client-side CKEditor plugin that adds features to CKEditor's default Link plugin.
  2. A server-side input format filter that converts the raw paths added through the plugin into aliased and, if applicable, language prefixed URLs.

Computed Field

Computed Field is a very powerful field module that lets you add a custom "computed fields" to your content types. These computed fields are populated with values that you define via PHP code. You may draw on anything available to Drupal, including other fields, the current user, database tables, you name it. (Feeling the power yet? :) ) You can also choose whether to store your computed field values in the database with other content fields, or have them "calculated" on the fly during node views. (Although you should note that Views use requires database stored values.) This field is literally the Swiss Army knife of fields. So start cooking up your PHP based values!

jQuery plugins

The jquery_plugin module provides miscellaneous jQuery plugins, which can be loaded from any module or theme by calling jquery_plugin_add($plugin) in Drupal 6 or drupal_add_library('jquery_plugin', $plugin) in Drupal 7. The Drupal 6 version supports jQ, a jQuery plugin registry.

Image Resize Filter

The easiest end-user solution for resizing inline images.

This filter makes it easy to resize images, especially when combined with a WYSIWYG editor such as tinyMCE or CKeditor. Users never have to worry about scaling image sizes again, just insert an image and set it's height and width properties in HTML (this is done automatically by WYSIWYG editors) and the image is resized on output to match the HTML.

Features:

  • Automatically resizes both local and (optionally) remote images.
  • Optionally create a link to full size images from the resized inline versions.
  • Prevents inline "hot linking" of images from other sites by storing them locally.
  • Adds height and width attributes to inline images when your users are too lazy to add them.

Demos:
Image Resize Filter demo and configuration options by Lullabot.
Demo combining FileField Insert with Image Resize Filter by MustardSeed Media.

Webkit/Chrome/Safari Users:
The "resize handles" typically shown in WYSIWYGs do NOT work in Webkit-based browsers (which includes Safari and Chrome) due to a shortcoming in the implementation of these browsers. See https://bugs.webkit.org/show_bug.cgi?id=12250 and this issue for discussion: #1102294: Webkit-based browsers (Safari/Chrome) do not support resize handles.

Login Destination

Login Destination

The Login Destination module allows you to customize the destination that a user is redirected to after logging in, registering to the site (7.x), using a one-time login link or logging out (7.x). The destination can be an internal page or an external URL. It is possible to specify certain conditions like referring pages or user roles and make the destination depend upon them. You may use PHP snippets to provide custom conditions and destinations. It is also possible to keep users on the currently visited page after logging in or out.

File (Field) Paths

The File (Field) Paths module extends the default functionality of Drupal's core Upload module, the FileField module and many other File Upload modules by adding the ability to use node tokens in destination paths and filenames.

In simple terms, File (Field) Paths allows you to automatically sort and rename your uploaded files using token based replacement patterns to maintain a nice clean filesystem.

Features:

  • Configurable file paths now use node tokens instead of user tokens.
  • Configurable filenames.
  • Support for:
  • File path and filename cleanup options:
    • Filter out words and punctuation by taking advantage of the Pathauto module.
    • Convert unicode characters into US-ASCII with the Transliteration module.
  • Automatically updates unprocessed file paths in the node body, teaser and CCK text fields on save.
  • Retroactive updates - rename and/or move previously uploaded files (Use with caution)
  • [D6] Active updating - actively rename and/or move previously uploaded files (Use with caution)

Search API

This module provides a framework for easily creating searches on any entity known to Drupal, using any kind of search engine. For site administrators, it is a great alternative to other search solutions, since it already incorporates facetting support and the ability to use the Views module for displaying search results, filters, etc. Also, with the Apache Solr integration, a high-performance search engine is available for this module.
Developers, on the other hand, will be impressed by the large flexibility and numerous ways of extension the module provides. Hence, the growing number of additional contrib modules, providing additional functionality or helping users customize some aspects of the search process.

The prime example of a site using this module is drupal.org itself – the Search API, along with the database backend and Views, is used to generate the issue queue listings.

Flag

Flag Demo Screenshot

Flag is a flexible flagging system that is completely customizable by the administrator. Using this module, the site administrator can provide any number of flags for nodes, comments, users, and any other type of entity. Some possibilities include bookmarks, marking important, friends, or flag as offensive. With extensive views integration, you can create custom lists of popular content or keep tabs on important content.

Flags may be per-user, meaning that each user can mark an item individually, or global, meaning that the item is either marked or it is not marked, and any user who changes that changes it for everyone.

In this way, additional flags (similar to published and sticky) can be put on nodes, or other items, and dealt with by the system however the administration likes.

Pathologic

Pathologic is an input filter which can correct paths in links and images in your Drupal content in situations which would otherwise cause them to “break;” for example, if the URL of the site changes, or the content was moved to a different server. Pathologic can also solve the problem of missing images and broken links in your site’s RSS feeds. See more example use cases on the documentation page.

Admin

Admin Module Screenshot (provided by ishmael-sanchez)

Admin 2.x

The admin module provides UI improvements to the standard Drupal admin interface. The 2.x branch focuses on the following goals:

  1. Sustainability - avoid excessive overrides of code, markup, and interface strings to ensure the module keeps the workload overhead on the maintainers and community to a minimum.
  2. Pluggable/extensible architecture - ensure that admin serves as a starting point for other modules in contrib to implement admin interfaces.
  3. Expose Drupal's strengths and downplay its weaknesses where possible. An honest approach to the underlying framework and architecture of Drupal will be less confusing to the user down the road.

Admin is not an original work - many of its decisions have had direct influences from other work in the community:

Admin 2.x: Installation

  1. Install & enable the module.
  2. The admin toolbar should appear automatically - you no longer need to alter your theme.

Language icons

Language Icons

This module provides icons for language links, both for the Language switcher block and (optionally) for node links. It is a spin-off from Internationalization (i18n) package.

As basic multilingual support is now built into Drupal 6 core, it doesn't depend anymore on any other contributed module. This module will work as simple add-in for Drupal 6.

However, for a fully enabled multilingual site, the Internationalization package is recommended.
