Had almost settled upon ZenCart when I came across the Drupal/Ubercart combo. It seems that its current development state is feasible for our live store. We are willing to fund useful custom modules and plan to contribute them back to the community.
Our main concern is: how hard will it be to perfectly, seamlessly wrap ubercart/drupal into our existing design? We do not want to compromise the site design once the user hits "Shop Online", as so many stores do. I've only just begun digging into the documentation and haven't seen yet how UC would be effectively embedded into our design template. We didn't originally intend to redo the whole static site as it currently sits in Drupal, but this may be the cleanest way to go. We know we can cost-effectively go with another solution, but would are hoping to determine that Drupal-UC is a cost and time effective route, as it seems like there is a vibrant community and a great philosophy behind it.
