maybe there should be something on the module project page at the top that shows if the module is in active development. If the module has been abandoned by the developer. etc.
an automated method might be better. if there has been a cvs change in the past month or developer response in the project issues in the past week then active.
Is there a public git repository that tracks drupal's cvs repository? I can do this locally but I was just wondering if anybody has already set one up and made it public.
