Launching Drupal 8.9.13 on XAMPP v3.2.4 for Win

I am trying to install D 8.9.13 (for development) on Localhost using XAMPP v3.2.4 for Win.

XAMPP modules launch without a problem,

I  installed D8, db, etc...no problem, and displays the title page "My Site" without a problem

sub domain access via external IP address

I have Drupal hosted on on Google Cloud with multisite. I have domain names and works fine with sub domains as well.

I am preparing to migrate from Drupal 7 to Drupal 8. To do that i have cloned the instance on GCP.

I have a static external IP for the cloned instance. I can access the main site , but i am not sure how can i access the sub domain.

sites
|_default(site1.com)
|_sub.site1.com

xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx ip takes me to site1.com

xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/sub or xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/sub.site1.com does not take me to the sub site.

Create new vbo action to export view as pdf

Background: I want to enable the site owner to export a list of all (or any filtered or selected) his reference projects as a nice pdf file. To achieve this, I am developing a module that creates a new vbo (views bulk operations) action which exports a view as a pdf file.

Steps taken: I followed the documentation of vbo and created a new class 'pdfExportAction' as follows:

Drupal installation Best practices (seems very inaccesible!)

Hi this is a far reaching question but in essence i am looking for guidance on the install and ongoing upgrade of a distribution - the case in point being "droopler".. There is an option to install from tar ball which seems to work (other than requiring .htaccess to get rewrite working) but... there is a security advisory that indicates that drupal core should be updated and i have not managed to complete this.  composer looks like the route to take so we run composerize module and overwrite the high level json file but the update fails citing unmet dependencies..
