Bio:

I've been pursuing excellence in software since the early 1980's. At a stage in my career where others have long-since drifted into management, marketing, or technical obsolescence, I've remained - I hope :-) - a leading-edge developer; not for lack of other opportunities, but for three simple reasons - the never-stale pleasures of cool new software, the joy of continuous learning, and an inexhaustible love of making great new stuff.

I have experience as a software developer, system and network administrator, and system implementer. I have written many kinds of software - mainframe and PC operating systems, compilers, financial systems, voice-response/telephony systems, network management and analysis software, Internet search engines, Computer-Assisted Instruction packages, streaming audio/internet radio applications, and many others.

I've been professionally involved with the Internet since the early days of the Web, serving as a webmaster for Astranet, one of the first commercial websites, and have been at the forefront of innovative content-delivery systems.

I was a geek from an early age, earning my first ham radio license (as WN2KBR) at age 14 and have been licensed for most of the years since - I currently hold an Amateur Extra Class license with the callsign N2VD. I am both a fan of and participant in theatrical productions - I get to Broadway shows whenever I can, and participate in local productions, usually offstage as a producer. I have served my home town as a Trustee and Treasurer of our public library and as a member of various municipal advisory committees.
