Bio:

I am a web developer with a specialty in Drupal that dates back to 2007 and version 4.7. Proficient in both front-end and back-end development, my expertise is in PHP, MySQL, jQuery, Javascript, HTML, and CSS, along with extensive experience developing numerous custom Drupal modules and themes.

I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Georgia Tech in 1994 with a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering. In 1999, fueled by a passion for web technologies I began the pursuit of a new career in the web development industry, which included completing a certificate in web design from Kennesaw State University.

In 2005, I co-founded the graphic design and web development firm, Simplex Creative Group. In 2007, I became the first full-time employee of a now established Drupal development firm, Mediacurrent. In 2010, I founded the web development firm, Element 31 Web Solutions, where I develop and manage high profile, fully customized Drupal-based websites and applications.

I am the lead developer for StoreFrontier (storefrontier.com), an enterprise Drupal Commerce site, and have been since its inception in 2015. The size of StoreFrontier's database is currently 24GB and growing, which squashes any myths that Drupal cannot handle large amounts of data. It is primarily the Views module that will render sites unusable when there is a large amount of data, because of the long and inefficient database queries it generates. In these situations, Drupal must be approached as simply a PHP/MySQL framework that will be customized using the Drupal API's. Creative problem solving is a must, but I think that's what makes development fun.
