I began my love affair with Open Source Technology in 1997 with Slackware Linux; from there it has snowballed. I love the Open Source community and the idea of sharing information. During the day I use my mighty octopus-like powers to manage the technical side of production for the small business centric division called Aristotle Select. During the average day I may be elbow deep in a daemon configuration, swing wide and tweak some settings on a utility payment application and then spawn a new Drupal site and load it full of all of the necessary modules it needs to be ready for my front-end genius, Dani.
Having a hand in so many different aspects hase given me the chance to respond to unique challenges that arrive at the intersection of web site development and systems-administration. Most call this occupation of mind-state consisting of Server Guru and code-slinger - DevOps. I think the DevOps tred is just beginning and I think there will be some unique perspectives and ideas that arrise from DevOps culture.
When I am not attacking the mountain of things to get done, studying new technologies like a madman, I like to get into the floor and 'play trains' with my son, or spend time with my other children. I like getting the opportunity to shape their lives for what I believe is the better, while learning much on this journey. If I still have a bit of time to myself my Wife and I participate in the SCA.
