Thank you for your interest in Drupal! The Drupal project is a great place to spend a summer learning, coding, participating and contributing. We are an exciting open source project with a vibrant community, and we look forward to your application and your project ideas.

If you are new to Drupal, the first thing you may want to do is sign up for a user account here at Drupal.org.

Here is the student application page on Google.

Below you will find many resources to help you when selecting a Summer of Code organization, writing your application, and choosing a project to work on. If you have questions at any point along the way, please contact any of the following people for guidance:

  • Angela Byron (webchick): Angela was a student participant in the Summer of Code 2005. She has since gone on to build a great career as a Drupal consultant and programmer. She can tell you what it is like working with Drupal, where to find resources, and review your project ideas.
  • Robert Douglass (robertDouglass): Robert is a Drupal consultant and author of a book about Drupal. Robert is the lead organizer for Drupal's Summer of Code participation.
  • Ruben Canlas Jr (benc): Ruben is involved with the Drupal documentation project and can answer your general questions about the Drupal project. If you want to learn more about Drupal before committing your summer to it, Ruben is the person to talk to.
