I'm having the same problem with language settings. Drupal 4.7.4 is correctly localized, the default language is set, as in Gallery 2.1.
The standalone gallery is ok, but, when i browse it in embedded mode, it's in english, even if default language and user language are set to italian.
Has the bug been fixed or what? I found a patch, but it's for 4.6...
Uhm, another thing, when importing users from Drupal into Gallery, even if they have correct localization settings in Drupal, the language is not imported correctly. I had to manually set them.
Any suggestion?

kiz_0987 commentedIt should work. I just tried it on Drupal 4.7 (CVS) with locale enabled. I imported a new translation file, changed the language for the user and immediately the drupal UI and Gallery2 were both set to the new language.
You are using locale?

dmirtillo commentedThe module is active, the language is set to italian (both drupal default and user one). Is anything else i should do? The module works correctly, i've just imported an update lang file and everythingh looks fine. Everything but the embedded gallery. Gallery it's a fresh install, and i didn't ever change a single character in drupal file, except config ones.
BTW, i'm not using CVS.
Do you know of any changes from drupal 4.7.4 to CVS in the locale module or something?
I just don't understand what's wrong...
Tomorrow i'll take some time doing a backup and trying to run the entire drupal+gallery on WAMP, with clean dbs, because my provider had some problems switching from mysql 4.0 to 5.0, especially encoding. Hope the're not damaged...
Any suggestion about the tables i should look at (both drupal and gallery), for localization settings?

ngk commentedI too have this problem.
I can't get gallery2 to be in danish when displayed in drupal. It works just fine when displayed on it's own.
I too do not use the CVS version.

profix898 commentedWhat is the language code you are using? It should be a ISO 639-1 code to work correctly. Please read http://drupal.org/node/115721#comment-193315 for more details ...
