Request the file name for content or at least the images be renamed by acidfree on upload. Users tend to have the ability to upload images with crazy long names and values. Seems like some kind of control should be inplace. Perhaps rename rules like path auto uses or name files with the consecutively using the album name. Ie album name is flowers with image upload of 123_dff_chyy_186.x renamed to flowers1.x

Because acidfree isn't the module that actually uploads the images and videos (image and video do this) this would be difficult. Moreover, images can be moved from album to album, so the names would need to be constantly renamed as well.

I sympathize with the giant file name issue, though. The ones with spaces in them, especially.
