According to the directions on the Dealing with abandoned projects page, I am request to take over maintainership (or to become a co-maintainer) of the Event Repeat module.
As an FYI and for full disclosure, I have no desire or interest in maintaining the 5.x branch -- only in updating to and maintaining a 6.x branch and eventually a 7.x branch (which may require fixing some bugs in the 5.x branch).

oadaeh commentedIt's been more than two weeks, but rather than jumping straight to the web master's queue, I thought I'd bump this post, first.
gregarios commentedBump! I'm in support of anyone who'll pursue this. :-)

seanbfuller commentedHey oadaeh,
Since we haven't heard back from rmiddle since May 2009, I think he is no long interested in maintaining this module. I obviously have not been involved in this project since I passed it over to him in January of 2009. Just to be clear, I had taken it over from hunmonk (the original author), to make some fixes and updates. I have not been willing to maintain this module since I pass it over two years ago (I tend to use karenS' fantastic work in date/calendar when I need to use calendar functionality on a Drupal site). I didn't even realize I was still listed as a co-maintainer. If you are interested in taking this over, I think a lot of people would appreciate it. If there is anything you need from me, please send me a note.

oadaeh commented@Sean B Fuller: if you still have maintainer privileges, you should be able to at least add me as a co-maintainer. That would be enough for now.
seanbfuller commentedIt looks like rmiddle is the owner now, so I don't have access to do that. Unless rmiddle is still around and can make the change, it looks like we'd need to make a request to higher powers. Do we need to move this issue to the webmaster queue as per http://drupal.org/node/22572?
oadaeh commented@Sean B Fuller: okay. I was just checking. I'll take it to the next step soon.
oadaeh commentedI'm taking this to the next step.
@webmasters: in addition to this issue, I sent this message to rmiddle:
I did not attempt to contact him elsewhere.
seanbfuller commentedIt's been a while since this last note was posted. @oadaeh, it seems I still have edit capabilities for the eventrepeat page. I'm going to put the note I originally posted two years ago letting people know that they should move over to date + calendar. I'll also post a link to some migration notes regarding event that I found here: http://drupal.org/node/524394. If you take over you can go from there.

tim.plunkettFrom what I've gathered, rmiddle is AWOL, and senabfuller wants oadaeh to take over the module.
oadaeh is a long-time drupal.org member, and maintains several modules. I see no reason for him to not maintain event repeat as well.

rmiddle commentedI added oadaeh on as a Maintainer. Please feel free to pass ownership of the module to oadaeh. I just don't have time to rewrite this module.
Thanks
Robert

tim.plunkettThere we have it!
avpadernooadaeh is now maintainer of the project.

tim.plunkettGlad to see this resolved, but kiamlaluno, why the component switch? How is this not an issue about "Project ownership"? You keep switching the components and it is confusing.
gregarios commented3 cheers for oadaeh! :-)
