i have several batches of several thousand nodes to import.

each is in spreadsheet csv format.

a couple batches started, and i realized they had the wrong format. i could not stop the import by rebooting, refreshing the screen, etc. it would always start the import where it had stopped with the prior, wrong, batch.

finally, i cloned the old feed, rebooted my vps, and started a new import with the newly cloned feed. it started with the new import. I deleted the old feed.

It seems to work.

I was able to stop my import by renaming the file that I was importing. It is in sites/default/files/imports.
