What would it take to update this module for D7. I might be able to secure some limited funding for it, that's why I ask.

I am not sure; I would love to convert this to a D7 module, moreover with Fields and Imagecache in core I can think already of a good couple ways to improve drastically this module, but it would certainly take me a couple days to clean things up and commit.

Subscribing, this sounds great!

Currently I need to strip my teasers from any images, and then display the first imagefield using the view fields settings - it works, but it is a rather cumbersome approach (especially if you need to configure different views this way), so it would be nice to allow automatic reformatting of images that are already included in the teaser instead.

It's not perfect but in the interim I'm going to use some new panels functionality that was baked into Display Suite. Combine that with some custom views and you should be able to do most of what the teaser thumbnail could do, maybe even more. http://realize.be/using-panels-view-modes-drupal-7

No problem. So, I wonder if the current moderator would be up for checking it in as the 7.x version of teaser thumbnail? I'd go in and change the names, make sure it's compatibale etc?
