I don't really understand what you're describing or what links you expect to see.

How do you know these particular modules even have configuration links? Please explain (ideally with screenshots) exactly what links you expected to see and where you expected to see them, and what you actually saw instead.

I also don't see what this has to do with the overlay module, so I'm moving it elsewhere for the time being...

Thanks!

Hi

I am also geting the same error. when you load your drupal site (http://localhost/drupal/). The site gets loaded and you will be able to see the following menu
Dashboard, Content, structure, appearance people, modules, confguration, reports, help.

When you click ont he "Configuration" menu the relevant page is not being loaded. it is only showing emply page as shown inthe screenshot 2&3.

How can we resolve this issue.

Regards,

Here the correct page but i added txt to a screen to show you what was missing I have already killed the other drupal site and started over but still I am have issues not just with a single module but several I have installed.

Thanks for the screenshots. I tried to reproduce it with a couple of those modules and wasn't able to. Although like you said, this apparently only happens intermittently...

When you install a new module, Drupal normally clears all caches and rebuild the menu, which is what causes the new module's menu links to appear. So all I can think of is maybe your site is hitting some fatal error during that process that prevents the menu from being rebuilt successfully.

The next time you hit this problem, I'd recommend checking your watchdog logs right afterwards to see what error messages are appearing there. If you can post those error messages here (assuming there are any) maybe we can get to the bottom of what the problem is.

@Patric1776: Yours sounds like a completely different issue. However, it also is likely due to some kind of fatal error on your site, so the same advice applies.

Same issue. Only getting one Content Authoring configuration component.

I've bumped the issue to "major," as I cannot configure modules. Seems major.

Subscribing.

@vineyardvoice, I don't understand what you expected to see there, since you didn't say which module you tried to install. Was it Advanced Forum also?

Again, you might be able to work around this issue by clearing caches manually (e.g., via the button at admin/config/development/performance). And to debug further, please report back any errors you are seeing in the watchdog (e.g., at admin/reports/dblog), or on the screen, immediately after you turn on one of the modules whose menu items don't appear like they're supposed to.

Clearing the cache worked. This was an instance of not instantly thinking of D7 clearing the cache... I had run cron. Thanks.

I also think this is a PHP memory I got a new host with more php memory and have not had this issue since D7 with alot of modules is VERY PHP Memory intensive!

I'm seeing exactly the same issue as #3 posting (http://drupal.org/node/1039072#comment-3997822). Clicking on the "Configuration" link goes nowhere.

I cleared all caches, but still have the same problem. Any other ideas?

Thanks,
Carl

Maybe you need more PHP memory I switch to http://hotdrupal.com/ web hosting they have 128MB php memory on their standard hosting package I have not had this issue since I made the switch

Thank you, Renegadez, for the reply. I'm only having this issue on my local install on my own machine, the server is working fine. I don't understand what you mean by "php memory". Is there a place that I can specify how much memory is set aside for php? (I'm new to Drupal, and I have some experience with PHP, but I'm no expert with it.)

I am using the WAMP stack to access and run my Drupal site on my local machine. I found a tutorial on the Drupal website titled "The 11 most Important things to do after you install Drupal." I am currently on step 5. As of this point I have downloaded the admin, views, cck, pathauto, token, and globalredirect modules. I noticed after viewing the content of each module that certain blocks(?) are disabled due to blocks required from other modules. The, when I select the blocks suggested in the tutorial and save I get a download successful, but then I get a fatal error message describing the issue. I have attach a screenshot of the error message.

Im just going over some old core issues and closing what I can.

I think this can be closed, seeing as some good suggestions were posted, its been 2 years, and there were no follow up comments. Please start new issues if you have any.
