Fatal error: Call to undefined function i18nstrings() in ... i18nmenu.module on line 213 [#1042920]

After updating http://drupal.org/project/languageinterface to version 3.6 I get a white screen showing this message on every page load:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function i18nstrings() in /drupalpath/sites/all/modules/i18n/i18nmenu/i18nmenu.module on line 213

Refreshing the browser makes the page load normally. Disabling languageinterface module solves the issue, but according to the module's maintainer the "problem is originating in i18nmenu.module.":

Update: I also get lots of messages like this in the log:

call_user_func_array() [<a href='function.call-user-func-array'>function.call-user-func-array</a>]: First argument is expected to be a valid callback, 'views_access' was given in /drupalpath/includes/menu.inc on line 452.
