Title: Co-maintaining Contact form field module » Offer to Co-maintain Contact form field module

As no work on the 7.x branch has been seen in a very long time, and there isn't even a branch to patch against, I am also offering to co-maintain. I already have a d.o git account.

Because Drupal 7 offers entity api and CCK is offered out of the box, I have been trying to integrate the field api with the module. I have rewritten the module for Drupal 7. So it will definitely take a while befer your see a stable release.

Also, Do consider that this module is not abandoned.

Thank you.

Hi,

Thanks for the quick reply.

Sadly nobody can see any of your progress, or help you, because you refuse to share code. Please create a 7.x branch so that others can assist you with this port. Otherwise, if there is no 7.x branch / code / commits / discussion of outstanding problems, the module is substantively abandoned.

Looking forward to helping you iron out the final details to get at least a 7.x-x-dev release

Thank you for your offer and I really apprecaite it.

I'll soon create a branch and I will share all the codes. I don't mind sharing the code because this is a way to give back to community.

Thank you.

According to the guidelines at http://drupal.org/node/251466 a module * may * be considered abandoned after 2 weeks of no maintainer response. There has been no D7 branch created for this project and no public discussion of how to move the project forward for months.

I am requesting to be made the module co-maintainer to assist in the D7 port. Alternatively I will need to roll a separate D7 module to do the same thing.

Hello,
Thank you for your interest in this module. I really appreciate it.
I have finished with the field api intergration for Drupal 7.

@beautifulmind thank you for responding here. It is really essential that you contribute back the code you have, you shouldn't wait until it is stable to post a dev release. Please do so this week.

There is finally a 7.x release (dev snapshot) of the project. I posted about it in the D7 port issue hoping that others will test and file bugs if any are found - http://drupal.org/node/811602

@Everett,
If you are aware, Drupal.org cron runs every 12 hours and there will be no release publised until the next cron runs. Please be aware that the 7.x release is not usable.

Regards.
