duplicate entries when using views sort criteria and Feeds

I don't see this with other Views I've done, but when I add a sort criteria to get the most recent feed entries from multiple sources to sort out, I get two of each item. I've tried using the node "post date" and the feeds item "import date" and get the same result - two of each node. They are duplicates in that the have the same node number and aren't just two versions of the same feed item.
