The Field permissions (http://drupal.org/project/field_permissions) settings are missing for Email Fields. I know Field Permissions is only in a dev release, but it is working for all other fields and field types I've employed so far, including a couple of dev and even alpha contrib fields. So maybe this is a feature request, but it seems like it's missing a hook or whatever that it's supposed to have (I'm no code developer, obviously) .

I've experienced the same issue as above, field permissions works on all fields except the Email Field. This is a critical integration point/functional requirement to continue using Email Field.

I haven't been looking at the field permissions module yet. But the patch in #3 seems to fix the problem with a hack. Before committing that, we have to check, whether there is a nicer way or a bug in the field permission module to fix.
