Hi,
I'm looking for mobile services to use some drupal applications on smartphones. This seems the thing I need, but I cannot find any documentation on usage.
Do I need a specific client app or something? and where can I find it?
Could you please give me an example on how to use

The mobile services module was written to provide a way of using Drupal on mobile phones. It provides the information in forms, views etc that would allow you to build mobile phone applications.

Unfortunately none of the applications we built are for the public domain, the only piece that was public domain was the mobile services module. We made the application work with Android, Blackberry and Windows CE hence i think it should be usable in order to build upon but currently there is no application that i can give out.

However if you were looking for code samples i have Java samples that utilized the kxmlrpc library too communicate but the GUI pieces i would not be able too provide.

miles over my head. would like to upload content to site from mobile device(iPad, iPhone, Android, etc.) is this a solution? If not point me in the right direction

There are apps in the store allready but if you are looking for a project here on drupal.org http://drupal.org/project/phonegap might be interesting for you.
