Same here. This is the only module left that I need. If it is not it would be nice to know if one of the other link modules could use the existing weblinks information.
Ahhh...yes! Sorry, I've been remiss in not upgrading this sooner. I do indeed plan on upgrading this, though I've yet to upgrade any of my existing sites to 5.0 yet, so I'm a little behind the curve. Let me check out what upgrading entails and I'll post back shortly with either (a) the updated module or (b) a projected completion date. In any case, I'll do my best to get this upgraded soon. Cheers.
This'll be at least a week...the upgrade to 5.0 changed A LOT and I'm doing this in my spare time. So, if anyone is a dev and really likes making a shload of trivial upgrades, lemme know and I'll get you CVS access. I'll post back as soon as I've got a working update.
I think I'm about a third of the way through this. I apologize for the delays...but the systemic changes were pretty major and I work fulltime on other stuff.
Huh...yeah, it looks like this module has basically rewritten most of the weblinks mod...except it doesn't really seem to work. I get an "under construction" error when I try to "administer the links database". So I can't add any categories.
There are actually a number of great links modules out there, and I think there's probably room for a couple, depending on what your needs are. The weblinks module is supposed to be pretty simple--just a way of creating and displaying weblinks and making those links work with categories/terms/etc.
I've freed up a little time and will hopefully have something soon.
Okay! I finally finished the 5.0 revision. Download away and feel free to provide feedback. I fixed a few little bugs, moved the "My Weblinks" page into the user account section (it's just a tab now), and added a "Recent Web Links" block. It seems to work just fine on my setup, but I'd be grateful for any feedback about everything working smoothly for you all.
If you downloaded the update yesterday, please download the latest version 5.x.1.2. There were a number of issues with yesterday's initial release. Cheers!
Also, as per a request I got this morning, you can not choose whether links on the links page and in the various blocks link to the URL or to the Web Link node.
