I would like to know what your plans are for this module. Currently it seems to be the only of its kind if you're looking for a D7 fields permissioning solution. I would just like to know if you plan to continue its development.

robloachIt seems like this module is the solution for a user interface around hook_field_access. Is there anything missing from the Drupal 7 version that is keeping it from a "stable" release?
I'm willing to help out with its co-maintainership, if that's required. I shot an email out to Marc about this.

robloachI've gone through and committed a couple things:
Marc mentioned that there's apparently something missing for making it work for non-node fields, will have to investigate. Now that there are two maintainers around, outstanding patches should get in quickly. Feel free to get involved in the issue queue. It's starting to look pretty good though!

michelleThis seems to have stalled again. I'm in a position where I need to control access to some fields and this module would be handy but there's a lot of open issues in the queue and I'm wondering if I'd be better off just form_altering. I know pitching in to help is better than doing my own thing but I simply don't have time right now to help get a general solution going when I can do some form_alters much faster.
So I'm wondering if this module is going to be worked on any time soon? If not, that's fine; I'm not going to complain when I'm not offering to help. Just trying to make a decision on whether it would be a good idea to use it for a site that goes live in a couple weeks. Based on the queue, my guess is no, but I figured it didn't hurt to ask just in case there's a sprint planned for it tomorrow or something. :)
Thanks,
Michelle

robloachThere's a whole new UI, lots of passing SimpleTests, a revised code workflow and a nicer looking report system. I'd say it's not a dead module ;-) . Expect a beta release soon.
