Site 6.20, brilliant_gallery-6.x-3.6, Lightbox2.
I can see the images in the gallery at admin/settings/brilliant_gallery/manage, and all are marked as visible. I can see the block "Brilliant gallery" on the blocks page. I have both filtered and full html with the BG tag enabled. I have tried typing it into the body field these different ways:

[bg|gallery]
[bg|sites/default/files/gallery]
[bg|gallery/images] (because I also set the same images in a folder called "images" inside the folder "gallery" which I can also see in admin/settings/brilliant_gallery/manage)
[bg|http://oakleyglass.com/sites/default/files/gallery]

They still do not show on the page I am trying to create. I found a temporary workaround of displaying the block only on the page I was trying to create. Is the path case sensitive? Both folders are set to 777. I thought the instructions at http://vacilando.net/bg were clear and I followed them as written.

When I typed in [bg|images] it worked. Please disregard.

I have the same problem. Anybody has a solution?

Try the older release 6.x-3.6
