Error using a cck date as an argument

I can use the standard node dates as arguments just fine, but when I use a cck date field as an argument it errors on me saying that the field doesn't exist. The field really does exists because I'm displaying it in the view, so something is wrong with the query being generated by the argument. See attachment...

edit: If I remove the views pager, then this ajax error goes away, but the view still doesn't yield results. Basically I'm trying to generate a summary of nodes per year based on the cck date.
