Anyone up to the task of migrating this nice theme to Drupal 7?

I started looking into this but the complex template.php file and it's usage of variables is confusing me. So for anyone who would like to help converting this theme, a good start is the template.php file.

Or, if you can give me any clues on hot to make the various $variables work, I try the conversion again.
