I just activated the poll module, and this allows me to create simple polls... They appear in the same space as my story posts, which I don't like.

isn't there a way to display polls somewhere else on the site , like on the right? (as a block maybe?)

It is possible to show the most recent poll in a block.

Login as the administrator, then goto blocks.

Put a tick next to 'most recent poll'.

Hope this info helps!

i have installed this on a new site (5.0) and the block does not display at all...

I have created a poll, and it works fine as a node.

I have tried many things, including creating a view. Given that (assuming my view is correct - have tried multple variations) that i get no content in either a page or a block, i am assuming there is possibly an error in the module???

version 5.x-1.x-dev (downloaded a couple hours ago)

I am a bit stuck... anyone have similar experiences??

Thanks
c.

Which module are you using?

advpoll has a checkbox in poll creation which asks "provide a block?"

if you check it, the poll appears in your admin>block page. At least, it works in 4.7 for sure.

UPDATE: scratch that. the checkbox was because I had the "node as block" module installed. but it's still working for me in 4.7.
