Should be possible to manage specific user for the CRUD permissions settings and not only for the groups? This should be useful if the user with the forum creation permission haven't the permissions to set the global users permission.

Just to clarify, you mean that you would want to the ability to assign permission (view forum) to a specific user, not just roles?

Unfortunately, this will take a bit of a rewrite to abstract the permissions from being role based to both role and user based.

No, it merely means providing an 'exception list' which works like the moderator list. But instead of giving moderator access it just gives view access.

There isn't overwhelming interest in this feature — let's just close it...

BTW, other node access modules (like Content Access and tac_lite) should be able to work together with FA and might provide the desired functionality.
