hi
I am a total newbie to Drupal. I can do some programming using PHP, MySQL, HTML and CSS as required. I am trying to build a MySpace like community site. I need advise on how to go about building such a site. What modules do I need to use and how can I customize the default Drupal configuration?
Please let me know if Drupal is not the right tool for this job. In such a case, please suggest alternatives.
Thanks for your advise and suggestions/recommendations.
Thanks

Need advise building a site similar to MySpace
Thanks for the responses. I went to http://groups.drupal.org/social-networking-sites but couldn't find much information. Is there a document that I can read to get an understanding of how to do it?
Thanks

: )
There is no step by step document on how to set up a social networking site.
To understand how to do it, you would read the handbook pages of drupal and begin implementing the community features your users want, but writing modules and/or downloading the modules already contributed by the developers. The group linked for you, is helping to incorporate ideas on how to do it. Read their blogs and their posts. take a look at the comment on top of the group
These are some of the modules you will want to look into beyond those I'll mention later. Take a look at the downloads area for the version of Drupal you are considering deploying.
