I am getting the error "IMAP Connection to my-email@my-domain.com failed". I am using Google Apps for email, but when I test using a local email address on my host (Bluehost) it works.

I am using the following settings:

Email: my-email@my-domain.com
Second Email:
Folder: INBOX
POP3 or IMAP: IMAP
Domain: imap.gmail.com
Port: 993
Username: my-email@my-domain.com
Password: my-email-password
Commands: /ssl (have also tried /ssl/novalidate-cert)

I've never used it with gmail mail service with custom email domain name. The latest 1.x-dev version includes a more detailed debug functionality that may drop some light. If you can install this one (make sure the changelog.txt file includes the line 'Issue #787754 by kutter, ilo: More detailed error reporting.', as this is the commit including the change), then you can follow the folowing instructions:

- go to add mailbox and put your settings.
- click the 'test mailbox' settings.
- review the watchdog messages.

I am having this same problem. Bluehost is my host too? Used the same settings as above.

Have you checked the documentation page on configuration settings for various hosts?

Just an idea- I only maintain the 2.x branch so I can't provide you with detailed help beyond that.

'I am having this same problem.' does not provide any additional information, so I'm also unable to help. The watchdog messages included in the latest 6.x-1.x-dev version should provide more information about what kind of errors are you facing.

Will close this soon without any additional info from OP...

This looks like it has to do with Bluehost blocking using external SMPT servers. It's a huge pain.

Dear friends

We have to ask, in form of "script/ticket" something like that for the open 993 port

We will use it to receive and not send :-) they solve (bluehost) in 1 day

Best regards

Sorry, Mailhandler 6.x-1.x / 7.x-1.x are no longer supported. Please upgrade to 6.x-2.x / 7.x-2.x and re-open if still an issue. Thanks!
