I want my dear visitors to register to post comments, not just for anti-spam measures, but it keeps the infantile ones out too (they usually don't bother)...

But that also means that everybody that register gets a user album, I only want members of a special role to have that feature.

(feel free to downgrade, but this is the critical feature for me, of all modules)

Per-user albums don't really work right now in 5.0 anyway, so this is a non issue. But here is a patch that should add the access rights.

So I am adding the patch to the bug so we don't forget about it. And then I am changing this into a bug saying that per-user albums are broken.

I removed the permission for users to post in other user's albums, but I still see the other users's album in the parent album dropdown... not very user friendly if the list grows to extrement proportions, with lots of users for example..

I just did lots of updates in this area. I applied the fairly stale patch attached to this bug and then added some more fixes. It seems to be working for me. But then, I am not a per-user albums kind of guy.

I committed the fixes to CVS. If it is still broken in the latest HEAD snapshot (once it gets generated), please go ahead and re-open this bug and tell me what is wrong.
