ccooper03 commentedI have created several print screens to show the issue. Please see attached
Comment #2
ccooper03 commentedPlease let me know what I may have done wrong. I tried with the upgrade as well as a clean install and had the same exact issue.
In the end, I wanted the forums to work, so I downgraded / reverted back to 4.7.

giorgoskif you are using category module (contributed module) then have a look
http://drupal.org/node/116390
I have filled a bug report (category and forum don't play well together)
if not please describe how one can reproduce the bug
what modules are installed (names and versions ?)

ccooper03 commentedThank you for the reply - and your question is on spot.
When I upgraded from 4.7 to 5.1 I was using the Taxonomy module. I beleive there was a 4.x category module as well, which I had installed, and then backed out several months ago because of issues I ran into. Maybe what I'm seeing is residual from that.
As I posted before - I have rolled back to 4.x so I don't have an environment set up to test in now. On a side note - I also dropped all my tables and performed a fresh 5.x install - and had the same results. The forum works fine in 4.x.
I will try setting up something again this weekend, reproduce the error (better document the configuration) and see if the fix noted by bdragon works. It could be the same issue.

ccooper03 commentedThis must be an upgrade issue with my original drupal 4.x install. I dropped all of the tables again, installed d5 using the d5 install.php, and now the forums work. Now I need to figure out how to move my data over . . .

palik commentedi see from the screenshots in .doc file exactly same situation as in my case - which is no drop down list of forums when creating or editing posts. New forum nodes go to tracker, blocks, but are not attached to taxonomy in any way.
I don't know what happened to my site, only that i did not installed new modules in time it happened, because i was on holidays - last properly created topics (that showed up on board) are from 10 days, i wasn't even at home, but my coadmin was doing some module no/off tests to see if there will be better performance without some of them - eg. search, book, etc.
i have not installed category, forum access, taxonomy access of any kind on this site.
i upgraded from 4.7 to 5.x about 3 months ago, but bug showed up like 10 days ago.
breadcrumb of older posts is good (shows forum that post belongs to), new posts have breadcrumb w/o this info (just mainpage -> forum)
i am investigating this, but need help :)
for now i found one difference between working and not working site - look at screenshot please! :)

palik commentedfor me it was fixed by go to taxonomy admin, enter forum vocabulary settings and hitting save (LOL i was at this page 3 times but only to close window because note type was checked properly)
now everything works fine for me :) cheers :)

cosmicdreams commentedI upgraded my 4.7 drupal site to drupal 5.3 and am experiencing this same problem. I'm triaging this bug to 5.3.
following the steps of the previous post did not help. Instead I got the error displayed in the attachment

cosmicdreams commentedThis also might be related. I created a new menu and my "My account" link attached itself to it. Now I can't use the my account link since it only shows up for anonymous accounts.

dpearcefl commentedConsidering the time elapsed between now and the last comment plus the fact that D5 is no longer supported, I am closing this ticket.
