I couldn't find an issue for this so I am opening a new one. Are there any news on this?

nedjoNo plans to port. So far as I know it's not needed. Is it?

d0t15t commentedif it is not needed, what is one supposed to use?
nedjoThe question is, use for what?
in Drupal 5, jstools included a lot of functionlality. In Drupal 6, all that was pushed to stand-along modules like collapsiblock and jstools provided a small helper javascript library. For Drupal 7, most of the former Drupal 5 jstools modules have been discontinued or went their own directions.
Is there a Drupal 7 module that requires jstools? If so, options would be (a) upgrade jstools, (b) remove the dependency. I'd favour (b).
But if there is no Drupal 7 module that requires jstools, then jstools isn't needed.

d0t15t commentedi'm looking for jscalendar - perhaps there's a different prefered module now - i'll continue my search.

nedjoJscalendar was discontinued after Drupal 5. Look at the jQuery popup calendar that comes with the Date Popups submodule of the Date package, http://drupal.org/project/date.
