I did some work on porting the module to drupal 7, it now works with some small issues, you can see it at http://drupal.org/node/670820#comment-4193706.

Since we do do not get any answer from the developer in months in those issue, i want to be added as a co-maintainer of the module, so i can place the code at git and make a dev release of it.
