There have been a number of requests for customization beyond scafmac's basic role customization patch.

I think this makes sense, but how would the interface work? There can be N number of 3 variables; node types, roles, and TinyMCE themes. The current module provides 3 themes (simple, compact, and full). Obviously users want to add things like simple_with_image, simple_with_video, etc, etc.

Ryanbach pointed out the need for a default setting for new content types.

Ronnqvist linked to many requests for similar functionality. I'm marking all of these requests as duplicates, closing them, and directing people to this issue to discuss how best to implement advanced customization by node type/user role/TinyMCE theme.

Please share how you'd like to see this work!

Yeah, this is interesting. I also wanted to to have a text box which I could add setting to "tinymce.init" ...

This version of TinyMCE is not supported anymore. The issue is closed for this reason.
Please upgrade to a supported version and feel free to reopen the issue on the new version if applicable.
