Using Translation tab create translation doesn't bring on board the node-extra-fields.

Hi,
I am in the process of understanding i18n and I like it a lot.
I really like the Translation tab which is added to a node, as explained here: http://drupal.org/node/133997

What I am missing is the fact that a couple of node-fields are not cloned in the translation.
- a web links field I have in the to be translated node. The new translation will go to same website.
- a location with lat/lon which I have in the to be translated node. The new translation will go to same place.

Could maybe the node-clone functionality or something like that be used for adding a new Translation?
Now I have to copy and paste already in the system available information.
